Programs That Help Boys Find Their Voice
We don’t teach literacy as theory, we build it through creation, taking a dual-focus approach to develop boys as both thinkers and communicators.
Social-Emotional Learning
We strengthen skills often left undeveloped such as:
- Collaboration and healthy debate
- Analyzing stereotypes
- Writing from another’s perspective
- Channelling emotions into art and writing
- Confidence in sharing ideas
English Language Arts Instruction
At the same time, we build core literacy skills such as:
- Metaphor and tone
- Instructional and narrative writing
- Citing evidence
- Posing research questions
- Evaluating facts vs. opinions
We built something new.
Mentors boys can relate to
Positive role models from the community who lead, teach, and inspire.
Creating a space where boys feel seen and motivated to grow.
Projects they actually want to make
Not essays for a drawer. Stories the world can read. An audience that’s real.
Peers who challenge and support
A global network giving feedback, not grades. Learning to give critique, receive it, and revise.
How do we do it?
Hybrid Model
Online and in-person instruction with relatable male mentors.
Creative, hands-on projects
Richer experience than workbooks.
Small groups, multiple activities
Keep energy up and focus strong.
Low student-to-teacher ratio
More personalised support and attention.
Low pressure environment
Students feel safer sharing thoughts with a mentor on Zoom.
Integrated ELA and SEL
Academic rigor and emotional growth in every project.
Built for Boys
Hands-on. Collaborative. Authentic.
Creative Projects
Communication and critical thinking are applied through evolving project formats, including:
Songwriting
Channel emotions into music by writing lyrics, producing tracks, designing album art, and publishing customised songs on Spotify.
Podcasting
Create podcasts that blend fact-checking, debate, and storytelling. Boys learn to use their voices with clarity and confidence.
Game Design
Step into the world of game design and learn to code interactive adventures that highlight empathy, problem-solving, and storytelling.
Storytelling
Author a published anthology of stories, poems, and art that explore history, cultural and social identities, and perspective-taking.
The Boys Ink Literary Journey
Our annual literary journal showcases the best work from our programs.
It's a celebration of boys' voices, creativity, growth and a testament to what they can achieve
when given the right support.
